She's so heavy

Plaid shirt (H&M Tokyo), Wolf t-shirt (Chinese $2 shop on Sydney Rd), Leggings (sass&bide), Necklace (made by me), Doc Martens

Quite frankly I am hating getting dressed in the morning at the moment because all I want to wear is my new leopard print snuggie and throwing on layers of 90’s grunge-inspired comfort clothes is about all I’m going to do for the next week (which will soon be hidden by the massive amount of leopard polar fleece anyway!)

I do however love this size XXXL t-shirt I bought ages ago from a $2 shop in Brunswick. I’ve seen them pop up on eBay a lot too, described as “vintage 80s” and it’s laughable when they only actually cost $2 and are far from vintage.

Anyway, I’m very excited that weardrobe.com chose to spotlight me and my profile the other day as their “featured member”.

A whole banner dedicated to me – very exciting stuff and I’m really thankful to all the new bloggers who have recently started to follow me and my store.

It’s funny, I always feel a little bit torn with this blog. I grew up blogging from the age of 14 (first I was on Diaryland, and then on Livejournal), and I spent 4 years studying journalism. Some would say (arguably) that my writing is a lot better than my fashion sense (not that you’d know it from my sporadic blog posts). And as this blog started as an extension of my vintage store, I always felt like I should be a little detached from it and make it about my brand and not about me. I suppose this bridge is getting smaller and smaller as my desire to share things about myself is forever fervent and now I am at a point where it’s just like fuck it! This is me! I certainly don’t mean that in the conceited way it may come across (although there is obviously always a certain element of conceit when one has a blog), but I do enjoy talking and I do enjoy writing so cool detachment is not always easy for me to achieve.

I’m going to end my little rant there and continue to debate in my own headspace, and just say that I really do appreciate all your comments and feedback and that you should really all own a pair of 8-Up Doc Martens if you don’t already because they’re super comfy and very, very warm! Also, I think I am the laughing stock of the neighbourhood right now as I’m fairly sure the construction workers across the road could see me taking my little self-portraits and think I’m a whole lot of ridiculous. Awesome.

xoxo

i agree, my blog has now become more about me but fortunately people like seeing what i post and then they also like seeing my vintage stuff too.

Just write what you feel and about you because the people that read the type probably love what your doing and the others just come for the outfits anyway (its the same with most fashion blogs haha)

this is going to sound uber-stalkerish, but i’ve been following you and your blogs since diaryland and i’d love to read more of your writing! you’re not only a talented writer but you also have great fashion sense and i’d love to see the two mesh more.
